Definitions

Proper Noun
  1. 1
An extinct Celtic language mentioned in the Sanas Cormaic (as Iarnnbērlæ), assumed by some to have been spoken by the Iverni, and said by Cormac mac Cuilennáin to be the source of Old Irish ond (“stone”) and fern (“anything good”).

Etymology

From the assumption (by T. F. O'Rahilly) that this was the language of the Iverni. In the 9th century Sanas Cormaic it is called Iarnnbērlæ (modern Irish Iarmbélre), where the first element Iarnn- is taken to mean "iron" but may have originally been related to Iverni.
