Etymology

Borrowed from Late Latin acardia, formed on Ancient Greek ἀ- (a-, “-less”) + κᾰρδῐ́ᾱ (kărdĭ́ā, “heart”) + -ῐ́ᾱ (-ĭ́ā, suffix forming abstract nouns). Equivalent to a- + -cardia.
