Etymology

From Turkish boza. Derived from Ottoman Turkish بوزه (boza), from Karakhanid بخسى (buxsıː) or Karakhanid بخسم (buxsum). Nişanyan argues that the direction of interaction between Persian buχsum and the Turkish is unclear.
