From Hindu + -phobia. Sense 2 coined by Hindutva activist Rajiv Malhotra, although the London-based organization Hindu Human Rights also claims to have done so. Contrary to misinformation propagated by Hindu activist organizations, sense 2 does not predate Malhotra.
