FD’s first toy to achieve wide popularity allows you to make your own unofficial Flickr ID badge, suitable for laminating, as shown in Figure 7-4. This has become a popular meme on Flickr, and it’s a good way to identify yourself in public to other Flickrites.

Other literacy activities on Flickr include rubric writing for groups, discussions in groups about images and their inferences, and, of course, when one Flickrite wishes to invite another to join a specific group.

Other Flickrites and deviants told us that they add content to their favorites because it helps them to communicate their appreciation to the photographer or artist (using the document affordance as an inter-action affordance).
