But let's not forget that loco-hauled trains are regularly operated by Arriva in Wales, First Great Western and Northern Rail (Workington to Maryport) and even Tim's beloved Virgin Trains has the Pretendolino set that runs regularly on the WCML, and the Pendolino drag to/from Holyhead.

Tonight the Pretendolino is due to work it's regular route, but I saw it working the Birmingham loop of the WCML yesterday, usually when this happens the EUS-PRE service is booked with a 390 or 221, does anybody know which unit is working it tonight?
