Ur-homeland

At the beginning of the previous century those who first ardently abandoned themselves to these studies believed that one would rediscover the Ur-language, the Ur-wisdom, the Ur-religion, even the Ur-culture and Ur-homeland of our Aryan ancestors in India.

His own homeland was not enough, since it already represented a modern, depraved civilisation, according to this author, unfortunately the ur-homeland of humanity existed only in distant, foreign lands (which should not be too hastily equated with exoticism).
