Wallacean

While the Philippines have a large Sundaland biotic component, there is a significant Wallacean, New Guinea and Australian element in the biota. The evolutuonary relationships of some of the iconic taxa suggest a Wallacean and Gondwanan origin.

This species is essentially Wallacean, but it is known from two areas in Sundaic Indonesia as we define it.
