Absenteeism

The Forum for African Women Educationists in Malawi, with funding from a Canadian organization, is working on a pilot project to provide affordable sanitary pads to school girls to reduce absenteeism.

The value of having in-house medical expertise is that staff with poor attendance records who have difficulty accessing NHS services can receive support from their employer, to help reduce absenteeism brought about by medical conditions.

Chronic absenteeism, for example, continues to be a problem despite some improvements.
