Afcness

I will admit that I was having difficulty understanding the gist of the thread in general since you all were talking about female AFCness in ways that I have not considered.

AFCness is an addiction, in that it's a detrimental state that creates a certain sense of security in the short term, does not benefit the addict in the long term, but a dependency on that state is very difficult to get rid of.

AFCness is a very resilient disease. I've heard of many cases where it seemed to be in total remission, but then came back with a vengeance.
