Aidsphobia

It's strange, you know, in the art world it's much different. Certainly there's homophobia and AIDSphobia but not anywhere near to the degree that there is in the music industry. The art world isn't as conservative as the music biz.

Other biases, such as racism and sexism, have combined with AIDSphobia to create a climate of danger for Haitians, Africans, sex workers, drug users, and others associated with HIV infection.

In turn, people with HIV and AIDS have constructed HIV/AIDS-positive oppositional consciousness that challenges the stigmatization and exclusion produced by AIDSphobia.
