Mr. Spencer predicted that the conservative movement’s broader embrace of the far right could start with news media outlets adding what he described as “alt-lite” hosts.

The speakers described themselves as ‘alt-lite’, disassociating themselves with white supremacists.

While the “alt-lite” may have successfully distanced itself from the worst extremists, it can sometimes seem unclear exactly how “lite” the new movement is.

While he claims it was an accident -- because who among us hasn’t accidentally tweeted hate speech multiple times -- it does highlight the biggest danger D’Souza poses: the “alt-lite” to alt-right pipeline.
