Blow-drier

Lida Gleizer, sleek and svelte, wearing a silk top, wool suit and gold-colored boots, seems at home among the floor-to-ceiling mirrors, thick maroon carpeting, silver walls and rock music (drowning out the blow-driers) at Lida Hair Design in Minneapolis.

The low whirr of the blow-driers carried with it the heavy scent of hair-spray and the delicate fragrance of cosmetics.

We’ve also come early in the evening to give the hairdressers time to concentrate on themselves. There’s already a buzz of excitement around the blow-driers.
