Chiuchow

Other than Cantonese and Putonghua, the three most common Chinese dialects spoken by the Hong Kong population were Hakka, Fukien and Chiu Chau.

Hakka, Chiu Chow, and Fukien were the most spoken OCDs, according to the by-census.

Teochew, or Chiu Chow, originates in Eastern Guangdong province.

The City Chiuchow is Kowloon's other top restaurant and is famous for its goose dishes and other specialties from the Chiuchow region (you may also wish to try the beef satay done in a creamy sauce).

I longed to travel to the Chiuchow region itself, but it wasn't until many years later that I finally made it there.

In the Cantonese south of China, the Chiuchow region, a center of sugarcane production, is known not only for seafood and savory street snacks but also for sweetmeats, including rich taro paste, sautéed water chestnut cake, and candied chestnuts and pumpkin with Chinese dates.
