Christmaslessness

"You mean ... you don't have Christmas? But that's so sad." I can't have been more than seven years old the first time somebody commiserated with my Christmaslessness.

Parliament passed a law in June 1647 banning any celebration of Christmas at all. […] Old Father Christmas himself became a symbol of the old England that must be protected in this time of Christmaslessness. Once again, even when Christmas was outlawed, we see people harking back to a forgotten glorious age of Ye Olde Christmas Celebration.
