Conservatize

Sinsheimer, a biologist, has said in speeches that as a scientist he has to believe in a value-free science. But, says Shaw, "A belief in a value-free science ensures that those who can pay for the science, like corporations and governments, get what they want," and this has a conservatizing effect on academic research.
