Coronavirology

Progress has been rapid in coronavirology during the last few years, and interesting insights have been gained for virology in general.

The cloning/sequencing phase of coronavirology for which the 1980's will be partly remembered, has provided a sound framework for further studies of the virus structural proteins and also some provocative insights relevant to these studies.

A key determinant of virus pathogenesis is the distribution of host cell receptor for the virus in question. This aspect of coronavirology has been reviewed.
