Countercurve

The major curve is in the thoracic region, with an equal countercurve in the lumbar region.

A third option of creating a postoperative scoliosis, or rather a postoperative decompensation of a curve, has been observed in patients who had a correction of an idiopathic thoracic scoliosis in their adolescence and the nontreated lumbar compensatory counter-curve or the countercurve in a double curve progressed to a scoliosis on the base of a progressive segmental degeneration.
