Countersurface

It is likely that this value of µ is dominated by a small number of high-friction asperity contacts between the sliding surfaces, which are far rougher than the mica substrate in our experiments, or by the bridging of the pMPC chains between the acetabular surface and the metal countersurface to which they may adsorb.
