Depalmitoylate

The fact that PPT1, which is a depalmitoylating enzyme, is itself regulated by palmitoylation may suggest the existence of a positive feedback loop; when PPT1 is palmitoylated, its enzymatic activity will decrease, thus leading to a higher level of palmitoylated proteins.
