Dihydrostilbene

Lunularin, a dihydrostilbene, is met with in Marchantia polymorpha (Hop- kins & Perold, 1974) and Conocephalum conicum (Pryce & Linton, 1974).

Alkaline hydrolysis of the aglycone gave a stilbene derivative (Fig. 3) and reduction of the exocyclic double bond in this structure, using socium borohydride and palladium chloride, yielded the dihydrostilbene derivative (Fig. 4)

To date, there have been a total of 13 dihydrostilbenes reported in cannabis.
