Ebenezer

Scrooge crept towards it, trembling as he went; and following the finger, read upon the stone of the neglected grave his own name, Ebenezer Scrooge.

Then Samuel tooke a ſtone, and ſet it betweene Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-Ezer, ſaying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped vs.

Here I raiſe my Eben-ezer, Hither by thy Grace I'm come; So I hope by thy good Pleaſure, Shortly to arrive at Home:

"I have none to give," the Ghost replied. "It comes from other regions, Ebenezer Scrooge, and is conveyed by other ministers, to other kinds of men."
