Endocytoscopy

Endocytoscopy revealed cellular microstructures resembling spindle-shaped smooth muscle cells comparable to bench microscopy (Fig. 56.3A).

Endocytoscopy (Endocytoscopy,Olympus, Tokyo, Japan) is based on the principle of contact light microscopy permitting visualization of the superficial mucosal layer.

Safety of endocytoscopy is comparable to a standard flexible diagnostic endoscopy.
