Endoglycolysis

Treatment with endoneuraminidase (endo-N), a class of enzyme specific for the endoglycolysis of (2→8)-α-sialosyl linkages, reduced the most slowly migrating HMM signals only observed in PrP-expressing cells, indicating that polysialic acids are responsible for their presence.
