Endopterygoid

The lower jaw articulates against the suspensorium, a series of pairs of bones comprised of the palatines, endopterygoids, metapterygoids, ectopterygoids, quadrates, symplectics and hyomandibulars.

Palatines and pterygoids (ectopterygoids and endopterygoids) are membrane bones formed in relation to the palatopterygoquadrate bar.

The endopterygoids are also dermal bones in origin and largely form the floor of the orbit.
