Equafinality

There is always the problem of equafinality, but continuing to examine more complex processes and patterns in living communities will allow this problem to be addressed from multiple lines of evidence (Gifford-Gonzalez, 1991).

The more general implication is that security communities are likely to exhibit equafinality: common endpoints can have very disparate beginnings.
