Ethnoaesthetics

During 1986–1987 in Ecuador we had both focused especially on mythohistory and ethnoaesthetics, seeking ways to present the complexities of indigenous thought and imagery in Spanish and English prose to communicate to broad audiences.

The significance of the Kamba enterprise resides in the emergence of an “ethnoaesthetics of the moment" that coincides with the growth of stylistic repertoires and techniques.

In the field of material culture and folklore, ethnoaesthetics or applied aesthetics is also a powerful tool to evaluate cultural expressions such as performance.
