Everesting

"Everesting" in a Sentence (3 examples)

In September 2017 Paul Adler and CyclingTips founder Wade Wallace rode an unofficial ‘Everesting’ together around Annecy. Nearly 320km and 10,000m of climbing (the hight^([sic – meaning height]) of Everest is 8848m), Paul tells the story of his failed and successful attempts at climbing Mount Everest and how it relates to cycling.

The first person to undertake Everesting was British mountaineer George Mallory – grandson of the famous explorer and Everest climber of the same name – who ascended Australia’s Mount Donna Buang in 1994, completing eight laps of the 1,069 metre hill.

In the increasingly popular global challenge known as Everesting, the 33-year-old McLaughlin returned to the famed Mamore Gap in his native Donegal and completed the 8,848 metres, 29,029 feet in old money, that being the height of Mount Everest, in a time of 6:40.54.
