If you're going to do an actual fan'''venture, as in, based on the MSPA source material, then I think the best advice is to still first and foremost make it good based on it's^([sic]) own merits. Whether it's the story, the characters, the writer/reader interaction, the humor; if you take away the MSPA elements and it can still be enjoyable then you've done well.

At any rate: Sburb fanventures. You've probably read a handful, and if you're a dedicated fan like me, you probably also tried writing one. And if you're a super-attentive theorist-grade fan, you probably picked up on one common detail that they have: (other than being based on Homestuck/the concept of Sburb, obviously) None of them has been completed, ever.

"sucked into homestuck" is a fanventure about a girl that gets zapped into hs canon and fucks. shit. up. specifically she RETCONS MURDERSTUCK and STOPS ANYONE FROM DYING. yes, everyone is in love with her. yes, she punches vriska and calls her a bitch. yes, it is fucking amazing
