Fatsome

“'You better not be telling a whopper!” says the fatsome one, slitting his eyes, “You know what happens when people tell us whoppers.”

My first thought was that it would make a fine accompaniment to my evening meal, for your puffin is a fatsome bird and fries nicely in its own juices.
