Gatekeepery

Nostalgia is unproductive at best, and harmful at worst. I think it leads to gatekeeper-y behaviour, in terms of people feeling ownership over how we talk about things, or what something should be, or what gender a Ghostbuster is allowed to be.

Seems like gender transition has gotten easier and less gatekeepery since the last time El looked into it.
