Glacifluvial

Besides meltwater, sediment flux is very important for determining glacifluvial landform type.

Glacifluvial sediment may be found in ice-contact environments (supraglacial, englacial, subglacial and ice-marginal) or proglacial environments beyond an apron of stagnant ice.

Rather than being carried downglacier by ice flow, debris is more or less randomly reworked on the glacier surface, or scavenged by supraglacial and englacial streams and transported by the glacifluvial system.
