Glaciotectonic

Little glaciotectonic research was performed in North America until the latter part of the 1950s, due in part to the relatively low number of glacial scientists and the significantly larger and less developed area to study.

Glaciotectonic structures and landforms were created throughout zones of former and modern glaciation as a result of glacier loading and movement on the crust.

Glaciotectonic deformation requires a glaciolacustrine environment, or a similar very water-saturated setting such as a fjord.
