Gluggable

This plonk is surprisingly gluggable.

Perfect election night fare, this is a beaujolais-in-all-but-name made from 100 per cent gamay. Soft, fruity and refreshing, it is simple, carefree and gloriously gluggable.

Recently, though, a myriad of U.S. and Australian producers have chimed in with mostly still, medium-sweet, gluggable renditions that tend to sell for $6 to $7.

It's about high-juice content. Crush apples, get the juice out, ferment it – that's how cider is made. You get lovely drinks with a balance of sweetness and acidity, and nice tannins from the apple skins. It's very gluggable, but also has layers and depth.
