Heigth

Having accomplished the firſt part called Longimetra, contayning ſundrie rules to meaſure lẽgthes, breadthes, heigths, depthes, and diſtances: I thinke it meete novv to proceede to the ſeconde kynde named Planimetra, vvherein ye shall haue rules for the menſuration of all manner playne Figures, to knovv their contente ſuperficiall.

A man Grovveth in heigth and length untill he be one and tvventie yeares of age: then beginneth he to ſpread and burniſh in ſquareneſſe.

[W]e ſee that the very aire it ſelfe is never conglaciate nor frozen, nor hardened, conſidering that miſts, fogs and clouds are no congealations, but onely gatherings and thickenings of a moiſt and vapourous aire: for the true aire indeed vvhich hath no vapour at all and is altogether drie, admitteth no ſuch refrigeration as may alter it to that degree and heigth.
