Hoejabi

Some Muslims may argue that girls of our faith who don't wear a hijab aren't as religious. But I beg to differ. Hoejabis do exist — so never judge a book by its cover.

“Are you a Hijabi or a Hoejabi?” she wrote. “Hijabi: A Muslimah who is fully covered head to toe, as her Lord commanded. Hoejabi: A hybrid between a whore and a hijabi.”

Taken literally, the term “hoejabi” (not my coinage) refers to women who see themselves at the crossroads of being “hoes” and “hijabis.”
