Incoupling

Depending on the process, the resist may be used at a film thickness either for maximum incoupling or for minimum incoupling.

The dimension of the waveguides, i.e. a film thickness d = 1 µm, was chosen in order to find a compromise between efficient incoupling of the light and single mode guiding.
