Ironing-board

The ſcene opened with M. le Texier as an old woman, ſitting at her ironing-board folding up napkins, waiting with impatience the return of her ſon [?], who is a thoughtleſs young man.

She has bought most of her furniture from auctions, a television set, curtains and even linen, not to mention numerous pots, pans, glassware and an ironing-board.

The solid table on which stood the sewing-machine was also useful for cutting out and dressmaking, and the ironing-board and the iron stood ready for instant use.
