Data about mental health suggests that even the most preternaturally chipper among us have tasted the Joker pill during the pandemic. But what if that Jokerfication isn’t fleeting?

The second guy’s distrust is key to a reading that jokerfication is desirable. Much of my fatalism around the state of the world has come from an increasingly dire view of humanity, informed by its decision to seemingly only make bad choices.
