To the best of the author's knowledge, the measurement of mattness or gloss has not been done 'on-line'.

A leather look and deep mattness but also high scratch resistance and good chemical resistance were included in the product requirement profile.

Purdy and Krehbiel (1907) found that manganese gave the best effects, zinc gave good crystals in local areas, while titania tends to mattness, producing crystals that are small and evenly distributed throughout the mass.
