Simultaneously, the Otherkin highly proximate relationship to popular fictional narrative clearly locates such beliefs within the framework of hyper-real religiosity. This relationship becomes most apparent within the context of Otakukin and Mediakin, and related concepts such as soulbonding, but is nonetheless present within the broader community as well.

This community was originally for those who believe themselves to be fictionkin/mediakin/otakukin, however we accept Soulbonders with Bonds from fictional sources, people who are unsure or the plain old curious folks.
