Mesosigmoidal

Check for a proper blood supply by transecting the mesosigmoidal vessel (drummond's arcade).

The large-volume ovarian cysts (Figs. 11.16– 11.19) that develop upward in the abdominal cavity may resemble mesocolic, mesenteric or mesosigmoidal cysts.

This places the reflection under stretch and facilitates its division. (c) The reflection and underlying mesosigmoidal fascia have been retracted to the left and the mesosigmoid to the right.
