So glad I took the time to check out Hollow Knight. $15 is a steal for this gorgeous gem of a Metroidlike (Metroidvania IF YOU MUST).

metroidvania is a stupid word, castlevania didn't do shit, everything in that genre pulls way more from metroid. anything new sotn brought is barely ever used (also it sux...!!!) this is my stupid hot take hill i will die on. also why i passive-aggressively call them metroidlikes

Only castelvania games can be metroidvanias. The rest are simply Metroidlikes. Give credit where it's due. If you use "Roguelike" (named after the game Rogue), you can suck it all the way up and give Samus her credit!

They're all called Metroidlikes going forward because we're not going to dignify Konami any longer.
