These datasets (study reference and MG-RAST IDs given) included: unassembled marine thrombolitic mat metagenome from Highborne Cay, The Bahamas 53 (4513715.3, 4513716.3, 4513717.3); non-lithifying (Type 1) and lithifying (Type 3) marine stromatolitic mats from Highborne Cay, The Bahamas 52 (4449590.3, 4449591.3); freshwater microbialites from Cuatro Ciénegas, Mexico 4 (44440060.4, 4440067.3), hypersaline non-lithifying mats from Guerrero Negro, Mexico 71 (4440964.3–4440972.3 were combined into one library).
