Microlesions

The improvement we observed in forelimb use was independent of stimulation status and only observed four weeks post surgery, suggesting that plasticity following the partial lesion of the EP may be responsible for the observed motor improvements, as has been reported previously for lesions of the EP [39 ] and for microlesions of the thalamus [40, 41 ].
