With today's sophisticated copying machines, one of the easiest ways to misredeem coupons is simply through duplication and gang cutting.

Trying to stimulate the sales of a less popular size or variety of a brand, for example, by issuing a coupon redeemable 'only' against that size or variety, will very often fail simply because too many consumers will misredeem the coupon against the most popular size/variety.
