Three 1.5-ml aliquots were dispensed into 2.0-ml cryogenic tubes and fixed with 1% paraformaldehyde and 0.5% glutaraldehyde for the bacterial count [14 ], 0.5% glutaraldehyde for the viral count [15 ], and 1% paraformaldehyde for the nanoeukaryotic phytoplankton (NEUK), picoeukaryote (PEUK), and Synechococcus spp. analyses [16 ].
