Overidentification

Homosexuality is caused by over-identification with a parent of the opposite sex. This means that a male homosexual relates more to his mother, and the female homosexual relates to her father.

As a biographer myself, I know a little something about overidentification with one’s subject, but I wish Ardizzone had picked a more appealing quality to emulate.
