Overmoisten

The technologist must be careful not to overmoisten the disk, as false negative results can occur due to dilution of the end product.

Sweet alyssum seedlings are particularly prone to damping off, so do not overmoisten the soil.

If the mixture is too dry to incorporate all the flour, a bit at a time, stir in just enough more ice water to blend the ingredients; don't overmoisten, as the dough should be stiff.
