The Christian authorities cunningly held their own festivals at about the same time as the pagans did but stuck their own labels on them, knowing that tradition and force of habit would do the rest. Thankfully, Christianity is dying out and within a few generations will be as dead as its founder. A Merry Paganmas to everyone!
